The healing power of music is what one internationally known musician is looking to deliver here in Big Sky.
Arvel Bird, the 2007 Native American Music Awards Artist of the Year, is visiting Montana as part of a nationwide tour.
Arvel, who stopped by our studio's Wednesday, has been playing for audiences nationally and internationally, including such places as Nashville, Salt Lake City and across the border in Canada.
Despite his many awards, Arvel say what motivates him is bringing musical healing to those in need.
"Just to be recognized by the peers and the organization that we had accomplished, something that was notable. The violin is an instrument that draws people in, and that with the Native American flute, both are instruments that resonate in the heart area. Which is an area that for a lot of people needs healing...There's a lot of pain, and suffering, and the violin is an instrument that heals that area."
Arvel can be seen daily at Yellowstone National Park from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. through July 14.
